FOR FACULTY
PARTNER SCHOOLS
Greetings from Nashville!
The Contemporary Music Center (CMC) began in 2001 and, for two decades, provided students from CCCU (Council for Christian Colleges & Universities) schools with priority access to the program. When CMC was purchased by Greenville University (GU) in 2021, our commitment to serving students from partner schools remained unchanged.
Schools wishing to add a semester at CMC Nashville as an option for their students, can sign an affiliation agreement. Any questions about a future partnership can be directed to Jenny Leininger, CMC’s Director of Operations.
The CMC is accredited through Greenville University by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and state certified by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).
Some institutions have purposefully built CMC into their undergraduate degree program while others have created a CMC MINOR giving them the added benefit of being able to expand course offerings without added cost and making student advisement and credit transfers much easier.
Moreover, providing a pathway to CMC has, in every case, given that institution an additional market tool and increased their department enrollment.

THE BENEFITS OF A CMC MINOR
Warren Pettit, Director
“At the CMC, the Christian faith isn't an "add on," a box to be checked, or even something to be integrated. Rather, the music and instruction grows out of a rich understanding of our risen Christ holding all things together and relentlessly redeeming all things to himself.”
Matthew Kickasola, Associate Professor of Humanities and Music
GENEVA COLLEGE FACULTY member
“It's clear that the CMC's experiential methodology is pedagogically sound and of a very high calibre.”
Dr. Matt A Roberson, Associate Professor in the Department of Music
ABILENE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FACULTY member
“Visiting in person was illuminating in that I not only got to understand the heart of the teaching ethos at the CMC, but to see the students at work in the “classroom”. The in-person visit gave me the confidence to recommend my students to the program with the assurance that they are in good hands.”
Aaron Barnhart, Associate Professor of Worship Arts and Music Industry
